Have you ever seen the reality television show Survivor? If you haven't, a lot of people struggle to survive day after day in a remote location while battling each other at physical and mental challenges. There's something about the last person that survives on that show and wins a million dollars.
What does that show have to do with surviving the effects of childhood obesity? Well, at first glance it might seem like it has nothing to do with it, but if you look at the two a little closer you can see how certain things from the show can help you survive in your own challenge against obesity.
The Prize - Not everyone can give their children a million dollar prize for surviving the effects of childhood obesity, but rewards can be used to help keep your children's eyes on the prize when they battle obesity.
Make it Fun - Losing weight is hard work, but you can also make it fun. Why not have little games or challenges in the backyard or local park for your children? IF they're having fun, they might not realize they're losing weight too.
Don't Give Up - Nothing is going to happen overnight. It takes time to see the effects of losing weight. Try to give your children looks at their progress as much as you can.
Of course there are many other ways to help battle the effects of childhood obesity, but hopefully these few quick short tips will get the ideas rolling in your mind.
